Carver Bancorp, Inc., is the holding company of Carver Federal Savings Bank, a federally charted savings bank. Carver is the largest publicly traded black owned financial institution in the United States. It was founded in 1948 to provide community banking services to New York City's Afro-American and Caribbean community.

From five branches in Harlem, Brooklyn, and Queens, the thrift offers deposit services including passbook savings accounts, money market savings accounts, NOW accounts and certificates of deposit. The loan products include commercial business loans, commercial real estate loans, construction loans and consumer loans including home equity loans, automobile loans, student loans, credit card loans, cash collateral personal loans and unsecured personal loans. Lending is focused on housing (residential mortgages and multifamily real estate loans) and non-residential real estate (churches and commercial properties).
