Harpo, Inc., was founded in 1988 by Oprah Winfrey when she started her own production facility, Harpo Studios. Harpo controls all Oprah's entertainment interests including TV production, Feature Film productions and magazine publishing. Harpo is most notable for producing the day time talk shows The Oprah Winfrey Show and Dr. Phil. Harpo also publishes in partnership with Hearst Magazines O, The Oprah Magazine, and O at Home, a seasonal home design magazine. On the internet Harpo publishes Oprah.com which has over three million users each month and is one of the top women's lifestyle websites. Harpo recently expanded into satellite radio broadcasting by signing a $55 million deal with XM Satellite Radio for an Oprah channel.
